No one ever expected us to win
Ranked top4 in Pan-Asia but withdrew world final due to the visa issue last year, Wuhan Dragon was not positively considered to participate world final this year either. Wuhan Dragon replaced DOA female and male, which was the weakest link last year. And added some new blood to CS: S team, with players from the top 3 CS teams in China, only TK and Jungle from last year stayed.
CGS offered a decent annual pay to both GM and players on the basis of Wuhan Dragon’s winning top 2 in Pan-Asia .Additionally CGS had plans to promote Wuhan Dragon in China as well as gain sponsorship. And again, Wuhan Dragon was the only team representing China. We had to fight for our country and ourselves!
Drama of Pan-Asia
We lost two rounds (Soul Jinhua and Sydney Underground) on day 1.Our biggest nightmare came true, both DOA female Yue“Catpower”CHEN and male Tao“Kindfox” ZHU were beaten bad, ending with 0 score. FIFA player Jun“SkylinE”LI broke the un-defeated record he made last year. CS: S team was even beaten by KL. For the following rounds, we had to win each round left in order to survive, including our strong opponent Singapore which has No.1 DOA male ranked by CGS last year.
But you know that most Wuhan Dragon players are from Sichuan with the fighting and team-work spirit. Back to ancient times, Chuan(short for Sichuan) Troop impressed everyone with sound capacity and never-give-up spirit. The whole team supported each other and with GM’s consulting and encouragement, everyone showed courage and confidence. Everything went well finally as we wished. It was not miracle but the great efforts we made paid off.
